The wind column is a structural component at the gable of a single-storey industrial plant. The role of the wind column is mainly to transfer the wind load of the gable. The upper part is transferred to the roof system through the connection between the hinge joints and the steel beam, and the lower part is transferred to the foundation through the connection with the foundation.

According to the traditional wind column layout. That is, the foot of the anti-wind column is hinged (or just connected) with the foundation, and the top of the column is connected with the roof truss through the spring plate. According to this arrangement method, the roof load is all borne by the rigid frame, and the wind column does not bear the vertical load transmitted by the upper rigid frame, and only bears the weight and wind load of the wall and itself, becoming a veritable “wind column”.
